Bluetooth tuning help

Tune an Icom ID-5200A or ID-5200E to an analog FM repeater from the search results.

Before you start

The ID-5200 is the only supported radio. Bluetooth registration and reads have been verified in Chrome on macOS. Tuning is experimental and still needs verification on the physical radio. Other browser and operating system combinations are not yet verified.

Use this site over HTTPS, or localhost for the development preview. The Tune dialog checks for Web Bluetooth support. Safari and iPhone browsing are not supported by this flow.

First connection

  1. Turn the radio on and enable Bluetooth in its Bluetooth Set menu. Use normal radio operation, outside Terminal or gateway mode.
  2. Disconnect other apps or tabs using the radio.
  3. On the radio, open Bluetooth Set → Pairing Reception for the first registration.
  4. In Proximity Search, enable ICOM BT Radio Transfer and accept the experimental-feature warning. Choose Tune beside a repeater. Review its frequency, offset and tones.
  5. Select your supported radio model and band A or B, then choose Choose radio & tune. The site remembers your model selection in this browser. Select your ICOM BT(ID-5200) entry in the browser chooser and approve any pairing prompt.
  6. Wait for Commands sent, then check the radio’s band, frequency, offset and tones. The connection is released when the operation finishes.

The site registers as RepeaterScoreWeb. Keep this site’s saved browser data so it can reuse that registration. Subsequent attempts still show the chooser; Pairing Reception is normally only needed for first registration.

What tuning changes

The selected A/B band becomes the main band, switches to VFO mode, and receives the repeater’s FM frequency, duplex offset and tone settings. Tuning does not transmit or write a saved memory channel. Commands are sent 250 ms apart without waiting for CI-V acknowledgements or reading settings back. “Commands sent” confirms the browser finished sending; check the radio to confirm the settings took effect.

This first version supports analog FM with receive and transmit frequencies in the same supported range: 144–148 MHz or 430–450 MHz. Your radio variant may reject frequencies outside its own limits. Digital-only listings, missing or conflicting offsets, receive-only tones, and different transmit/receive DCS codes cannot be tuned through this feature.

If it does not connect or tune

Connection details in the dialog contains the diagnostic log. The local development preview also saves it for troubleshooting. The connection diagnostic page can test registration and reads separately.
